Job Description and Duties

ASSOCIATE ARCHITECT – FACILITES AND DEVELOPMENT / NORTHERN SERVICE CENTER / ARCHITECTURE / SACRAMENTO

The reporting location for this position is 2241 Harvard Street, Suite 200, Sacramento, CA 95815. This position will work under the general supervision of the Supervising Architect.  

The primary duties include responsibilities for individual projects and groups of projects including research, programming, design, cost estimating, preparation of working drawings and specifications, bid coordination and construction administration.  The projects include, but are not limited to deferred maintenance, minor capital outlay, major capital outlay, concessions, repair projects, and special projects identified by the Department.  These and other duties will be accomplished under the general supervision of the Supervising Architect.

Candidates for this position need a strong working knowledge of the California Building Code, including the State Historic Building Code and Accessibility regulations.  Candidates must also be able to prepare contract documents using CAD programs (AutoCAD, REVIT) with strong organizational skills to assist with drafting support production and quality control.

This position requires a certificate of registration as an Architect issued by the California State Board of Architectural Examiners.  Please provide proof of eligibility with application.  

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.
