Our client is an internationally recognized architecture and engineering firm. They are looking for a Mechanical Designer with experience in HVAC, plumbing and Fire Protection design in the Commercial, Healthcare, and Education industries.
Responsibilities:
- Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices for building systems design for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems design in the Commercial, Healthcare, and Education industries.
- Interprets, organizes, executes, and coordinates assignments with the overall responsibility for budget and schedule adherence, quality control and inter-discipline coordination.
- Responsible for creating, influencing, and finalizing designs involving domestic piping, plumbing, chillers, boilers, HVAC ducting, exhaust, sanitary, fire protection systems.
- Will work with the design team, Engineers, Project Managers, and other stakeholders on specific assigned objectives, complex features.
- Coordinates with the project engineer for design guidance as required.
- Produces plans and specifications.
- Coordinate needs, designs, and develops an understanding with other design disciplines for design package needs.
- Perform field verifications / site walks to identify, verify, resolve, and incorporate solutions into design packages.
- Completes design work on engineering/architectural projects ranging from small to large scope.
- Serves as a job captain on single discipline projects.
- Reviews project construction submittals for conformance with the contract documents.
- Performs construction site visits for status reports and punch list reports.
- Travel required.
- Valid driver's license required. May be waived for international assignments.
Qualifications:
- Certified Plumbing Designer preferred.
- Experience using Carrier HAPS for building load analysis is preferred.
- Experience with domestic cold and hot water, sanitary and vent design.
- Experience with Fire Protection design (wet, dry, clean agent, etc.).
- Experience with compressed air design.
- Experience with medical gas design.
- Proficiency in REVIT required.
- Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) preferred.
- Experience working with AutoCAD is required. Experience with Navisworks, PIPE-FLO or similar hydraulic modeling software is a plus.
- Working knowledge of International Building Codes, NFPA Standards, ASHRAE Standards.
- Ten (10) or more years’ experience with former employer(s).
