Job description
We have an amazing opportunity for a professional who is passionate about client care to join our team as a psychologist. Successful candidates will be able to conduct psychological assessments and testing, as well as diagnoses, recommendations, and treatment for our clinical populations who deal with adjustment disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, multi-trauma injury, chronic pain, head injury, and other mental health conditions. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills are a must and will help you coordinate and collaborate care with an interdisciplinary team, case managers, and other treatment providers. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement treatment plans and therapeutic processes, and monitor client progress through regular meetings or sessions
- Identify psychological, emotional, behavioral, or organizational issues and diagnose disorders
- Ensure that patients have proper resources by referring them to outside therapists, clinics, and other treatment facilities
- Examine the patient's behavioral or emotional patterns in an effort to help them better understand or anticipate the patient's own conduct
- Perform behavioral and cognitive research through watching, interviewing, and surveying individuals
- Provide psychological, neuropsychological, and developmental assessments, including Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs) to youth ages 5+
- Offer families referral services to outside therapists, clinics, and other professionals
- Participate in team meetings and in-house case consultations
- New Clinicians are expected to see at least two clients per month. Each evaluation requires 25-30 hours of clinical time
- After the initial (six to nine month) training period, you choose how many evaluations you want to complete
- Applicants must be available to test in person at least six days per month on a regular schedule
- Interviews/feedback/report writing can be completed remotely, on a flexible schedule
- Additional day-to-day tasks will be discussed during the interview process.
Qualifications:
- Must have a master’s degree and a Doctorate of Psychology (PhD, EdD, PsyD)
- This position requires passage of the EPPP (Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology)
- Previous supervised experience of 1-3 years under a licensed psychologist is required
- Must have exceptional analytical skills, communication skills, and observational skills
- Current state licensure approved by the ASPPB (Association of State and Provincial Licensing Boards) in the state you practice
- At least two (2) years of experience providing psychoeducational, developmental and/or neuropsychological evaluations for children, teens, and/or young adults
- Experience and training in assessing developmental, attention, learning and social-emotional challenges
- Must be a Licensed Psychologist or Licensed Educational Psychologist in California (or license eligible)
- Must have a Doctoral degree in Clinical, School or Educational Psychology or related field from an APA Accredited Program, or a Masters degree in School Psychology with additional training in clinical psychology and assessment
- Knowledge of current assessment measures and practices
- Experience collaborating with elementary, middle, and/or high schools
- Bilingual languages skills and/or expertise in assessing autism, giftedness, or providing IEEs are a plus
