Job Summary
The main function of a Tech nician Assistant is to create fabric and metal test loads according to specifications in the Test Load Preparation Standard Operating Procedure for use in the Verification & Validation of company produced Steam Sterilizers.
Job Description
- T he Technician Assistant will ensure proper storage and organization of test loads in a temperature & humidity controlled Conditioning Room.
- The Technician Assistant will break-down used test loads and prepare the used fabric materials for processing at an external laundry service.
- The Technician will receive freshly laundered fabric materials and prepare them for equilibration to the environmental conditions in the Conditioning Room, prior to use in subsequent test loads.
- Working closely with R&D engineer to make sure all load requirements for project V&V testing are met.
- Responsibilities may also include assisting R&D technician or engineer with executing V&V test protocols.
- Executing simple test procedures with assistance of Lead R&D Technician
- Daily monitoring of conditioning room environmental conditions (temperature & humidity).
Skills Required
- Preparing loads to company SOPs (wrapping instrument trays and folding towel packs)
- Frequent assembly and lifting of instrument trays (25-30 lbs)
- Capable of standing for periods of time while preparing test loads or executing a test
- Ensuring test supplies are stocked and not beyond expiration date
- Ensuring conditioning room is kept neat and organized
- Coordinating with R&D engineer on test load laundry delivery and pickup .
Education/Training/Certifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
Additional Requirements
- Shift Time: 24hr per week (Tue - Thu 7:00 AM - 5:00PM)
