POSITION OVERVIEW
Thompson Truck Group is currently seeking an individual to join our team as a Parts Counter Sales Representative. In this role you will have the opportunity to:
- Assist customers with their auto parts questions and needs, either in person or via telephone
- Handle cash and other purchasing transactions
- Effectively communicate features, benefits, and warranty policy information to customers
- Coordinate and arrange daily order shipments, deliveries and pick up
- Maintain records of repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates and special-order parts
- Issue parts return credits as outlined in company guidelines, maintaining accuracy of information for price verification
Individuals who are successful in this role are team players with a strong commitment to customer service, have a willingness to learn new products and product updates and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
POSITION MINIMUM & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 6 months prior customer service experience
- Minimum 2 years prior parts sales experience
- Basic computer knowledge to include Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Parts DMS system experience preferred
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include some weekends, evenings and holidays
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is primarily located in a retail/shop environment with occasional exposure to spray chemicals and batteries. Prolonged periods of standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, and reaching can be expected. The ability to lift 150 pounds is required.
