Job description

Lifeway is seeking a Corporate Communications Specialist. In this role you will strate gizes with key leaders from all ministry areas of Lifeway to coordinate the internal communication of company news, initiatives, and resources that support the organization’s mission and key values. Serves as a curator of culture, helping drive change and transformation in partnership with HR using various communications channels and media.

This is a hybrid remote/in-office position located in the greater Nashville, TN area and relocation assistance is available. #LI-Hybrid

• Generate ideas and create communication strategies that inspire cultural transformation and foster team morale and engagement. Develop tools to equip employees to be ambassadors for Lifeway (e.g. digital Publishing and Event pipeline).
• Serve as managing editor for employee website and weekly, internal communication e-newsletter, and mobile content distribution channels.
• Promote a shared sense of purpose by proactively finding and telling the stories that align with the business strategic priorities. Develop personal networks with employees, customers, and ministry partners to discover and craft stories that build culture and brand trust.
• Develop strategic communications campaigns that will further organizational goals.
• Act as senior writer for articles and messaging for internal communications.
• Writes and edits content for both internal and external communications.
• Guide and assist leaders in developing communication roadmaps and content that supports strategies and goals.
• Assist senior leadership with content creation and editing needs for presentations, publishing, and correspondence.
• Collaborate with Human Resources to help onboard new employees.
• Travel as needed to cover stories and Lifeway events.

Minimum Education Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, communications, or related field

Years of Experience Required:

• Professional communications experience, with strong skills in news and feature writing and editing. (5-7 years)

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:

• Advanced written and verbal communication skills. Able to deliver compelling communications/stories.
• News and feature writing – Advanced
• Reporting, interviewing, editing skills – Advanced
• Able to modify writing style to be channel appropriate – Advanced
• Knowledge of content strategy process – Advanced
• Able to present complex ideas, strategies, and results succinctly and persuasively across all levels of the organization – Advanced
• Diplomatic, discrete, and trustworthy in confidential matters – Advanced
• Team player who is able to work with peers and management to carry out the mission and vision of the organization. – Advanced
• Skilled in planning, organizing, prioritizing, and strategy and plan development – Advanced

• Proficient in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office and Google Suite
• Basic skills in Wordpress and Adobe Photoshop.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Must demonstrate high degree of creativity. Must be able to work effectively with the communications team, be flexible, deadline oriented, and willing to continue training (technical and professional).
• Job responsibilities and methods for accomplishing this job change continuously due to technology and growth at Lifeway. This position requires the ability to learn and apply current trends in journalism, online publishing, multimedia, and social media.
• Photography, audio, and video skills a plus.
• Experience using AI tools for communications would be a plus.

• May include availability, travel, communication, PPE, church membership/activity, working conditions, and physical demands. Common examples:
• Ability to travel, occasionally overnight
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Evidence of a mature and growing Christian walk.

• Membership/active in a Southern Baptist church.
