- Worksite Location: Sartell, MN
What you’ll do as the Governmental Accountant: - Prepare audited financial statements
- Perform all audit functions and tests as prescribed in applicable audit programs
- Identify accounting, compliance, and reporting issues
- Maintain a working knowledge of all current auditing laws and statutes
- Participate in CDS’s Governmental Accounting & Auditing Committee
- Conduct research related to client work and internal projects
- Manage client expectations and assist clients with their audit and other related questions
- Attend Continuing Professional Education to develop your interpersonal skills and professional expertise
- Encompass the company’s core values: integrity, quality, collaboration, innovation, and kindness
- Develop and maintain client relationships
What you’ll bring to the Governmental Accountant role: - Accounting degree or educational requirements to sit for the CPA exam
- Well-rounded knowledge of accounting principles and auditing standards
- Analytical skills with particular attention to detail
- Effective, timely, and professional communication skills
- Flexible team player who is also able to work independently
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Desire to continue to develop and enhance skills
- Exceptional time management skills with an ability to organize and prioritize projects, and meet deadlines
- Strong computer aptitude
