Job Description: Radford University invites applicants for an Intake Coordinator position. The Intake Coordinator serves as the first point of contact and coordinator/receptionist for the Highlander Success Center (HSC).
- Provides excellent customer service to a wide range of clientele, including students, families, faculty, and university administration. Engages directly with visitors in person, via telephone, and email to determine what services each individual needs and guides them to the appropriate human and/or physical resources.
- Follows university/state policies and procedures and utilizes various databases and electronic systems.
- Provides support to the HSC Administrative Operations and Budget Manager, as needed, to issue, monitor, maintain, and reconcile purchasing requests, travel requests, and reimbursements, manage office equipment maintenance, and maintain office supplies.
- Engages in special projects and other administrative duties, as assigned.
- Supports hiring, training, assessment, and supervision of student employees and graduate students engaged in front desk operations. Coordinates work schedules and serves as proxy to the HSC Administrative Operations and Budget Manager.
Minimum Qualifications: - Exceptional customer service experience, including the ability to work empathetically with people from diverse backgrounds.
- A self-starter with a demonstrated ability to anticipate needs/gaps and plan solutions.
- Experience in making independent judgments, analyzing, problem solving, managing multiple tasks, and working independently.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient with current office software such as Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in fields handling confidential data and information while working with the public (like higher education or healthcare).
- Experience interpreting, and applying university, state, and federal policies/procedures.
- Outstanding customer service and organizational soft skills.
- Previous experience/knowledge working with Banner, Starfish, or similar systems.
