We are looking for an Architectural Job Captain who has experience in managing and coordinating teams with experience in Multi-Family, Public Works (municipalities, fire, and police stations), and Single-Family projects . Taking an architectural lead, the Job Captain maintains ownership of all drawings and oversees the progress of architects and drafters. The duties include but are not limited to, keeping a schedule, staying on budget, ensuring the smooth operation of any tasks, meeting deadlines, and having strong technical production skills. The Job Captain communicates with the clients, team lead, and drafters throughout each stage of a project.
You Have:
- Accredited professional degree in Architecture or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience
- Proficiency in architectural software such as Revit, AutoCAD software
- Familiarity with computational design and parametric modeling preferred
- Knowledge of sustainability and integrated design guidelines
- Knowledge of QA/QC and specification process
- Knowledge of building codes and ability to research and apply/incorporate into technical documents
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
- Ability to communicate and present ideas in a clear, concise, and professional manner both verbally and in writing
You Will:
- Modify or create implementation documents and complex drawings with limited guidance,
- Manage project work of the architectural team as appropriate
- Assist with review, modification, and coordination of implementation documents prior to issue, including collaborating to validate that code and zoning requirements for assigned segment of project are met
- May attend client or consultant meetings
- Participate in team meetings to discuss project issues, technical issues, and coordination with other disciplines
- Recognize the financial aspect of a project and basic accounting principles involved in the projects and firm’s profitability
- Responsible for the financial implications of overhead and chargeable time, including accountability to project plan and planned utilization rate
- May assist in pursuit of new project opportunities either through relationship development or identifying additional work from existing clients
