The R&D Technician for Hendrix Overhead Solutions is based out of Hendrix in Milford, NH.
- Help Engineering with mechanical and electrical testing to ensure components/cable meet requirements.
- Work with Engineering to execute the test procedures per relevant standards.
- Ability to assemble components, test apparatus and perform mechanical tests.
- Familiar with operating production equipment for supporting R&D’s
- Write up test reports and data logging of all the testing performed for future use and analysis.
- Ability to operate high voltage equipment and high voltage lab for testing.
- Mixing materials for cable RND’s
- Ability to understand industry standards.
- Ability to work with heavy equipment, materials and cables for testing.
- Participates in continuous improvement activities and LEAN initiatives.
- Manage the Engineering Change Request (ECR) system.
- Complete approved Engineering Change Requests within Axiom such as new part setups and modifications to existing parts.
- Works well with others in cross-functional teams.
- Can communicate effectively with internal customers.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Occasional travel to a different testing facility
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma Required.
- Technical degree is preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge of Microsoft office tools: Excel, Word, Outlook and Access
- Experience with High Voltage and other mechanical testing equipment is preferred.
- Ability to express ideas both written and oral communications.
- Experience in wire manufacturing preferred.
- Experience with ISO-9001 preferred
- Working knowledge of LEAN manufacturing is a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to pick up to 50 lb.
