St. Mary's Medical Center is seeking a Full Time Occupational Therapist. Under the supervision of the Department Leader, or designee, and indirectly to all referring physicians regarding the patients assigned to them.Administers treatments and occupational agentsas prescribed by a referring physician in an effort to restore function and prevent disabilityfollowing injury, disease or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximumperformance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities.The staff therapist coordinates, delegates, and supervises responsibilities assigned to supportivestaff (COTA’s, rehabilitation techs, etc.) The staff therapist participates in operational aspects ofthe department: maintains performance improvement activities within the department,participates in CQI activities, assists with monitoring budget guidelines, ensures that patientcharges are accurate and completed in a timely basis, and participates in infection control,departmental equipment training, organizational safety and fire safety programs. Requirements Graduate of a School of Occupational Therapy or equivalent, which is approved by the AmericanBoard of Occupational Therapy Education. Successful completion of National Board forCertification in Occupational Therapy examination. Current state of West Virginia license orTemporary license, current CPR card. A thorough knowledge of the field of occupational therapy. Ability to work in co-operation withphysicians, OTR/L, other hospital personnel and patients. To be proficient to the fullest extent inall Occupational Therapy service provision. Should have initiative and good judgement.Job tags
