T o support the on-going growth of our business, we are currently seeking a hands on, safety oriented and experienced
Journeyperson Welder to join our South Edmonton team The ideal candidate will have 3 + years of welding experience, ideally in a heavy industrial setting. 3rd year Apprentices are also welcome to apply.
This is a day shift - Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 4 PM, with potential for over time and the occasional Saturday, as needed. The starting hourly rate is $37.00 to $40.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities - Complete the appropriate paperwork, forms, and reports
- Complete work orders and ensure any parts and consumables used are documented
- Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications
- Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), plasma arc welding (PAW), resistance welding and submerged arc welding (SAW)
- Weld different types of metal in vertical up, overhead, gouging and hard facing positions
- Structural assembly
- Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment and brazing and soldering equipment
- Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears, and other metal straightening, pressing, and bending machines
- Repair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers
- Use any hand tools that may be required for tasks
- Help to find new ways or processes to complete the jobs in a more efficient manner
- Provide high quality service to internal and external customers
- Ability to work in the absence of direct supervision and make recommendations based upon experience
- Assist as needed in plant maintenance or parts replacement
- Other duties as assigned

- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
Education and Experience - Journeyperson Welder Certificate
- Red Seal Certificate is an asset but not required
- 3rd year Apprentice certificate
- B-Pressure and CWB Ticket is an asset but not required
- Minimum 3 years’ welding experience, ideally in a similar heavy industrial setting
