SALES DIRECTOR- OEM/ AUTOMOTIVE
Remote Role- Home weekends- 60% plus travel. Role has 4 Direct reports. Typical week is Monday- Thursday, travelling with these 4 Direct Reports (Sales Managers) to meet with clients.
Our client, world leader in Trailers/Trailer bodies is hiring a Sales Director to support Sales Managers cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders. Main Objectives: 1) Sales Management, 2) Strategic Planning, 3) Client Relationship Management. The right person will have excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, and also will be someone who have a strong track record implementing effective sales strategies.
Position is a Direct Hire role. Ideally the Sales Director should be based in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Tennessee or North Carolina (but can be based anywhere in Tennessee or east of Tennessee). Most Accounts are in the Midwest, but travel throughout the continental US is an expectation.
Sales Management experience within the OEM trailer/body market is required. The right person will also have 7 to 10 years of increasingly responsible sales experience in the trailer and body market and 3-5 years’ experience managing and directing a sales team. Sales experience within the OEM trailer/body market is required. Preferred candidates will have extensive knowledge of commercial vehicle manufactures.
ROLE OBJECTIVES: SALES MANAGEMENT & CLIENT RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT:
Sales Management:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the sales department.
Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics to ensure the team meets or exceeds targets.
Set clear performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to enhance individual and team performance.
Client Relationship Management:
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
Collaborate with the team to identify client needs and propose customized solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain and develop existing relationships while establishing new relationships throughout the OEM market.
Ensure continuous growth of products by nurturing and developing relationships with OEM SALES MANAGERS AND Key STAKEHOLDERS.
Lead the OEM Sales team with negotiation support on new programs, changes to existing programs, generation of new product opportunities, and leads with existing & new customer base.
Lead and help promote new technical opportunities with OEMs.
Oversees all efforts and activities associated with US OEM customers, including special assignments.
Interface and collaborate with AFT/OEM Sales, Marketing, Finance, Pricing, Engineering, and Operations departments relative to new product releases, new product development, rationalization, promotional opportunities, market development, market analysis, and special objectives/initiatives.
Develop employee objectives, oversee departmental performance, and incorporate metrics to evaluate the progress of employees.
Participates and leads the preparation and execution of approved budgets for sales personnel and OEM customer programs.
Communicates effectively in written and presentation form.
Assist in providing clean & well-written weekly and monthly sales report for executive review.
Ensure all compliance with the Technology Control Plan and the Federal Export and Control Policy established for the Corporation.
REQUIREMENTS:
Requires 4 years of college at a minimum.
7 to 10 years of increasingly responsible sales experience in the trailer and body market.
3-5 years’ experience managing and directing a sales team.
Sales experience within the OEM trailer/body market is required.
Must be proficient to effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations.
Preferred candidates will have extensive sales experience with commercial vehicle manufactures.
Prefer extensive knowledge of lighting, harness, telematics, and other electrical products and/or sales & technical experience with commercial vehicle manufacturers.
