KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools
KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools is part of the KIPP national network. Together with families and communities, we create joyful, academically excellent schools that prepare students with the skills and confidence to pursue the paths they choose – college, career, and beyond – so they can lead fulfilling lives and build a more just world.

In the 2023-24 school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region will be comprised of four schools educating almost 3,000 students, kindergarten through eleventh grade in the North and West sides of Jacksonville, Florida.

For the current school year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work the following hours Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. Hours for teachers and students may vary slightly by school.

Every Wednesday is a student early release day, which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings. *This doesn’t include Wellness Wednesdays when all staff leave at student dismissal.

To support these schools, we will employ more than 300 full-time staff members. We seek educators and colleagues that represent our core values of high expectations, growth mindset, commitment to team, trust, joy, and sustainability. Job Description

KIPP Jacksonville aims to have a strong teacher talent pipeline and will work with any paraprofessionals who are interested in pursuing teacher certification to transition to instructional roles the following school year.

POSITION SUMMARY
KIPP Jacksonville seeks paraprofessionals to support our primary K-2 classrooms and our 3rd through 5th grade English/Reding classrooms. The paraprofessional will be assigned one classroom and will support students alongside a lead teacher, the grade level team, and the ELA department. Paraprofessionals support the teacher during the regular school day and are under the direct supervision of a classroom teacher.

Paraprofessionals will conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher to support students in small groups and assist with the preparation and/or implementation of differentiated instruction. Paraprofessionals will support the classroom by helping students with morning/arrival routines or dismissal routines, transitioning and supervising students at lunch or recess, and prepping materials used for instruction in the classroom. Paraprofessionals will receive feedback from both their classroom teacher and the school’s administration team.

While KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools does employ some paraprofessionals in the standard model, we are aiming to expand the number of paraprofessionals in these classrooms with grant funding (ESSER or UniSIG). These paraprofessionals will be temporary in that the role is 100% grant-funded. While it is possible funding for this position may be allocated in future years, it is now only funded by this specific grant through June 30, 2024.
