As a Safety Professional, you will be an important resource. You will drive the identification, assessment, analysis, and solving of a broad spectrum of safety and ergonomic issues across a diverse group of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts businesses.
The Safety Professional (Ergonomics) will report to a Manager of Safety.
What You Will Do
On any given day, as a Safety Professional (Ergonomics) , you might:
- Work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Drive the implementation of safety and ergonomic programs, performing job task analysis, facility, and design/modifications, analyzing injury and illness trend data, evaluating safety performance, and finding opportunities to improve safety and ergonomics performance.
- Lead the development and implementation of ergonomic strategies and tactics.
- Perform ergonomic evaluations to identify risk and develop solutions.
- Improve performance, review source material (rules, codes, laws, and standards) identify and share industry practices
- Ensure implementation of Disney programs, applicable safety standards and established regulations.
- Manage relationships and work as part of a team within a matrix environment with all levels of leadership and employees.
- Analyze injury and illness data, prepare presentations on trends and mitigation plans, then share them with your peers/leaders.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Here’s what you need to be successful at this job:
- 3+ years of safety and ergonomics experience in a related industry such as maintenance, manufacturing, hospitality, entertainment/theatrical, transportation, distribution/warehousing.
- Knowledge and hands-on application in regulatory standards, best-practices and guidelines, such as ergonomics, incident investigation and root-cause analysis.
- Experience with strategic thinking, prioritization, and initiation of tasks
- Experience with proper writing, speaking, and presenting to all levels of employee.
- Resolve conflicts and diffuse difficult situations.
- Experience with assessing, analyzing, identifying, and solving body motion and ergonomic issues across a diverse group of Disney Parks and Resorts businesses.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in the entertainment/hospitality industry
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation
- Board Certification in Professional Ergonomics (BCPE)
- Bi-lingual language skills
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in occupational safety/or health, industrial hygiene, life science, physical science, or engineering.
Preferred Education
- Advanced degree in Ergonomics or Human Factors Engineering
