The AppleCare Service Manufacturing Technical Program Management Team (TPM) is accountable for qualifying, managing, and improving service manufacturing repair processes across Apple’s Americas repair network. In this highly visible leadership role, you will lead Technical Program Managers supporting screening and repair processes for all Apple products. These processes enable Apple’s extraordinary customer support experience while delivering significant cost and environmental impact reductions. You will have direct frequent communication and collaboration with Apple Product Design, Hardware Test, Operations, and AppleCare Quality Engineering partners as well as our worldwide suppliers.
Key Qualifications
- 5+ years mechanical manufacturing experience, preferably in a process design role for repair or NPI for high-volume consumer electronics
- Experience developing repair or NPI process flows/requirements, authoring engineering specifications, and defining process validation requirements that are visually clear and concise
- Confirmed ability to combine multiple sources of information into a single consolidated repair process design
- Working understanding of statistics, and experience using quality methodologies such as design of experiments, statistical process control, sampling strategies, FMEA, CPK and GR&R
- Strong hands-on mechanical ability
- Outstanding focus on the customer experience
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills with the ability to explain sophisticated processes to leadership, vendors and cross functional teams
- Exceptional ability to influence cross-functional teams to get results
- Shown success with new product manufacturing launches or new factory start-ups
- Experience working with OEM and/or contract manufacturing partners to set up and run sophisticated operations
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and be a self-starter a willingness to take ownership of problems and implement the best solutions
- Define all engineering tasks to meet project objectives and have the ability to quickly learn about new processes with very little information provided
- Ability to track tasks, and evaluate priorities daily
Description
AppleCare’s Technical Program Manager manages a team of engineers that qualify, lead, and improve end to end manufacturing repair processes for all Apple products at medium to high volume repair sites globally. This team focuses on new product manufacturing repair process implementation and qualification, which incorporates: diagnostics, repair, assembly, key parameters, process setup, and process validation. You will be ensuring that our screening and repair programs are implemented correctly and that improvements to those processes are identified, designed, and deployed consistently at all locations globally.
In this highly transparent technical management role, you will be working with cross-functional teams and vendors. You will need to demonstrate your ability to combine knowledge of reparability, assembly, diagnostics and manufacturing process/process controls and deliver results on a timeline.
- Define best-in-class repair processes to meet all Apple design and operational requirements
- Drive innovative new service processes across all our product lines that set the bar for quality in the service industry, while reducing our environmental impact, and improving the cost efficiency of service
- Lead and improve repair processes including all parameters, and secondary operation requirements to meet defined specifications
- Executive level status reports including BRR (build readiness review), OK2Repair, and OK2Sustain reviews
- Call out key concerns and options timely for resolutions to senior management
- Analyze data from factories, customers, DOEs, etc, to develop action plans, quality, and repair accuracy decisions based on the data
- Drive lessons learned into process designs and use predictive methods to anticipate and avoid issues early
Education & Experience
BS or higher in engineering discipline (industrial, manufacturing, or mechanical preferred)

Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $159,000.00 and $280,800.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
