Position Summary/Description:

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

This position is responsible for assisting the Senior Finance Director of Students Affairs with management of business operations in Student Affairs, a unit with 19 departments, more than 325 full-time and part-time staff, and a collective budget in excess of $110M derived from a diverse array of revenue sources. This position is responsible for the financial analysis of all Student Affairs Revenue, including preparation, review, management, and identification of metrics for internal and external presentations to management and other departments. Additionally, the position is responsible for General Ledger management, Endowment and Gift management, Student Affairs quarterly and annual financial comparative analysis for all Student Affairs departments. This position reviews and centrally consolidates the capital planning analysis, deferred maintenance planning and analysis, budget analysis, as well as other monthly report compilations, financial review meetings with Department Directors, and other divisional or departmental budget/finance meetings. This position is responsible for monthly Student Affairs Finance onboarding of new staff and preparation of Finance training materials and presentations. This position serves as a redundancy to the Senior Finance Director of Student Affairs and has approval responsibility in all accounting, finance, and human resources transactions to maintain proper internal control audit expectations. This position is responsible for assisting the Senior Finance Director for Student Affairs with management of the overall annual budget process, working in conjunction with Student Affairs Finance Leadership team from Campus Health, Carolina Housing, Carolina Union, and the Office of the Vice Chancellor. This position reports to the Senior Finance Director for Student Affairs.
