Job description
- JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
- In collaboration with clinical specialty and site leadership, staff, and Learning & Development, designs, plans, coordinates, implements, and evaluates clinical education programs to advance the Samaritan Health Services (SHS) healthcare teams' clinical practice within designated clinical department(s). Supports system processes at the department level for staff orientation, competency assessment and development, ongoing education, implementation of best practices, culture of safety, development of policies and procedures, and use of the electronic health record.
- DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
- The Intensive Care Unit provides direct care or influences care for acutely/critically ill patients who are at high risk for actual or potential life-threatening health problems. The ICU provides care through advanced knowledge and experience in a setting that provides intensive monitoring, assessments, and interventions.
- EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
- Current unencumbered Oregon RN Licensure required.
- Three (3) years of direct care nursing experience in applicable specialty required.
- Certification in applicable specialty within one (1) year of hire required.
- If appropriate, ACLS, PALS, and/or other life support certifications applicable to clinical practice area required within six (6) months of hire.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, preferred.
- Board certification in Nursing Professional Development preferred.
- GSR ICU-CCU:
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent experience required.
- Healthcare Provider BLS preferred.
