Job Description: Make a difference supporting High School Charter Schools with Prep For Success!!
Prep For Success supports students in a blended learning environment at the Options For Youth Centers in Oxnard. They provide all services required for students to continue to succeed.
*This is a Part Time role with 10 hours a month supporting the Oxnard Client locations*
Essential Functions include, but are not limited to the following:* - Administers prescribed medications according to physician's instructions; dispenses medications based on established district procedures and maintains related records and documents.
- Contacts parents, paramedics, and professional medical personnel as required by the nature of the emergency or the IHSP.
- Assists with providing health instructions to students for the purpose of promoting a healthy lifestyle and/or acting as a resource to students, teachers, and other school personnel by supporting a healthy and safe environment.
- Collaborates with school and staff members for the purpose of promoting and/or securing student health services; providing information and complying with legal requirements.
- Maintains student's confidential files and records for the purpose of providing information required by legal requirements and professional standards.
- Prepares documentation for the purpose of providing written support, conveying information, and/or complying with mandated requirements and professional guidelines.
- Reports health and safety issues to assigned administrators and appropriate agencies for the purpose of maintaining students personal safety, a positive learning environment and complying with regulatory requirements and established guidelines.
- Participates in a variety of meetings, workshops and seminars, and interdisciplinary teams for the purpose of gathering, conveying and/or sharing information on students' health needs, service delivery, and educational programs; and/or improving skills and knowledge.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

- Ability to make skillful decisions
- Ability to work under pressure and meet IEP report timelines
- Ability to travel to school sites
Education and Experience: - Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing
- Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Must possess a School Nurse Credential (Preliminary or Clear) from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing
- A valid Audiometry certification
- Current CPR/First Aid Certificate
