Job description
Peraton is seeking an Senior Network Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located in Herndon, VA. The qualified applicant will become part of Peraton's Department of State (DOS) Consular Systems Modernization (CSM) Program, for the Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA). This initiative is intended to modernize and consolidate the operational environment under a common technology framework in order to better support the services provided to CA’s customers.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain the i ntegration promotional model e nvironment approach and capabilities to be used on the program
- Support the use of network engineering tools in the i ntegration environments including those used for development, requirements management, test automation, security, monitoring, and configuration management
- Interpret/define network integration requirements based on architecture blueprints and models
- Provide network-based solutions and support users in the use of engineering tools used on the program
- Plans for and maintain i ntegration environment needs based on existing and anticipated work to be performed
- Work closely with the DevSecOps, Architecture, System Integration Test and Development Teams to ensure that virtual workstations, network appliances and tools are integrated together effectively
- Coordinate with the government and/or other providers to ensure that adequate infrastructure, network integration and tools are available to support user needs
- Participate in requirements gathering, management, configuration, test planning and other software/network engineering activities as appropriate
DOSCSM
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 8-10 years’ of experience or Master’s Degree and 6-8 years’ of experience.
- At least three years’ experience with maintaining similar i ntegration environments
- Experience with network integration traffic management proxies and appliances (e.g. LTM/F5, Apache, routers, firewalls etc.)
- Experience with understanding and defining network firewall rules.
- Ability to interpret, define and support network security requirements including 1-way and 2-way SSL TLS-1.2 traffic.
- Understanding of network protocols, domain/path-based routing, mutual authentication, and threat detection.
- Fundamental knowledge of LTM VIP routing configurations, iAPP rules, ICAP policies, certificate requirements, etc.
- Experience with actively supporting the requirements and the design of large-scale software systems.
- Experience managing an Integration environment utilizing the IBM Engineering Life-cycle Management (ELM) suite of tools.
- Experience supporting an Agile (Scrum/Kanban) development program.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with DoS on-prem network.
- Experience with cloud-based platforms (e.g. Salesforce, Azure, Okta, Login.gov).
- Experience with on-prem cluster-based platforms (e.g. OpenShift).
- Experience having planned and established a similar engineering environment.
- Experience supporting an Agile software/system integration.
- Experience using IBM CLM/ELM-related and test automation tools.
- Experience using engineering environments and tools that support Agile development, especially SAFe and Confluence.
- Experience working with or supporting a DevSecOps tool chain.
- Must have a current , active Secret (or higher) clearance. Interim clearances are acceptable.
