Job description

Post Haste is a New American cocktail bar and restaurant in the Fishtown/East Kensington
area that focuses on sourcing locally and seasonally. We were recently named one of the best five new bars in the country for 2023 by Punch magazine! Our concept is to create a world class cocktail
bar with a robust food program, which reduces the typical restaurant carbon footprint by sourcing all
ingredients as locally as possible. This means we won't be importing any of our spirits, produce, protein and citrus but that we will be supporting our local farmers, distillers and makers, while having a great time
every night.

We are searching for servers to join our awesome team! We are looking to hire someone who has experience in an upscale-casual, high-volume restaurant and will embody our core values of local sourcing, sustainability, and providing fantastic, memorable guest experiences. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative, passionate individual who wants to be part of a forward-thinking and fun restaurant  cocktail bar.

Essential Duties

  1. Responsible for prompt, efficient and courteous service of food & beverage to guests.
  2. Responsible for communicating Post Haste's concept to guests.
  3. Responsible for identifying allergies and dietary restrictions for all guests.
  4. Takes and enters all orders and ensures prompt delivery and explanation of ordered items.
  5. Explains in detail food & beverage menu items, making recommendations based upon guest preference.
  6. Works as a team with other servers, bartenders, and support staff. 
  7. Notifies Managers of any delays, complaints or other potential negative impressions.
  8. Creates memorable experiences for guests.
  9. Ability to work other supporting departments such as running, bussing, and polishing.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  1. High school diploma preferred.
  2. Minimum one (1) to two (2) years prior experience in high volume, fine-casual or fine-dining environments.
  3. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Must be a team player with a strong work ethic.
  5. Exceptional hospitality/guest relations.
  6. Prior knowledge/use of Toast or similar POS is preferred.
  7. Knowledge of current industry trends including classic cookery, wine, beer and cocktails.
  8. Knowledge of food and beverage sustainability .
