J ob Description:
Systems Technology and Research (STaR) is seeking a Program/Project Risk Manager in the Huntsville, AL area supporting Army Aviation. The candidate will focus on managing Program/Project related risks and support developing mitigation strategies to eliminate and/or minimize the adverse impact of identified risks. The candidate will lead efforts to identify, evaluate, prioritize, register, and track identified risks.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree and 5-10 years of experience supporting DoD Program/Project Offices
- Strong working knowledge of risk management and prior experience utilizing Risk Management tools and databases.
- Experience performing a risk evaluation then developing, updating, and/or reviewing Risk Management Framework (RMF) documentation to include Program Plans, Implementation Plans, Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), and Risk Assessment Reports.
- Experience analyzing current risks and identifying potential risks that could affect the project.
- Proven ability to interface collaboratively with various levels of senior leaders, managers, employees, and external stakeholders.
- Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Possession of excellent analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- Active DoD security clearance or the ability to obtain.
Responsibilities:
- Actively lead and participate in regular risk review/status meetings with government and contract personnel to facilitate progress and address potential milestone schedule issues.
- Participate in sessions aimed at identifying, planning, and executing strategies to mitigate emerging risks.
- Maintain awareness and knowledge of evolving project risks and communicate and apply relevant changes to mitigate.
- Assessing risks then preparing strategies to address/mitigate the risk and getting buy-in for risk management activities as required.
