TIME FRAME: ALL JAZZ FESTIVAL EVENT DAYS
April 25-28 & May 2-5, 2024 (event days only)
POSITION SUMMARY:
Support the operation of the stage during music performances under the guidance of the Stage Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of band equipment.
- Coordinate changeovers between acts with the Stage Crew team, following the directives of the Stage Manager when necessary.
- Aid in artist load in and load out procedures.
- Participate in the final day gear load out.
- Lift heavy equipment as needed. Crew members should anticipate lifting items weighing 75 to 80 lbs. frequently.
- Adapt to the demanding nature of stage production, including rapid set changes within limited time frames.
- Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with artists, their staff, festival personnel, vendors, and volunteers, even during challenging situations.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
- Strong preference for knowledge and experience with band equipment.
- Some familiarity with festival or special event production is advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal skills necessary for effective communication with artists, presenters, volunteers, and Festival staff.
- Endurance to withstand long hours in a fast-paced, stressful production environment and adverse weather conditions.
- This is a physically demanding role involving significant lifting.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Using the Absentee Request Form, it is the responsibility of each employee and their supervisor to accurately report their absenteeism to the HR Office.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive issues.
- Must attend and complete any required training.
- Any document, computer program, design or other intellectual property created for the Jazz Festival belongs to the Jazz Festival and must be given to the Festival through your supervisor or department head at the end of each production year, or upon request.
- Must complete all required Feedback Forms and Final reports.
