JOB SUMMARY
Mobile Unit - 2 Person Team with the ability to coordinate own schedule.
Operating area typically falls within a 30-mile radius with mileage reimbursement.
Operates mammography equipment to obtain mammograms according to ACR specifications independently and in conjunction with radiologist.
Performs imaging scans on patients in the department modality. Acts as an expert technical resource for the department regarding departmental protocols.

JOB DUTIES
Actively demonstrates the organization’s mission and core values, and conducts oneself at all times in a manner consistent with these values.
Knows and adheres to all laws and regulations pertaining to patient health, safety and medical information.
Maintains and participates in associate work and call schedules.
Maintains Departmental Imaging Protocols. Ensures consistent use of these protocols among all associates in the department.
Oversees and directs work of associates in the department to ensure proper departmental workflow.
Responsible for maintaining imaging records in accordance with standards and protocols. Adheres to all local, state and federal regulations as they apply to Imaging services.
Ensures maintenance of adequate levels of approved supplies necessary to perform departmental procedures. Evaluates quality and cost effectiveness of new or replacement supplies and equipment, and makes recommendations to Supervisor.
Oversees the collection and coordination of recording data for Quality / Compliance initiatives
Ensures departmental equipment is maintained in safe operating condition and contacts Bio-Med personnel as appropriate.
Closely monitors and maintains patient schedule and appointments. Ensures departmental schedule is appropriate for patient volume and recommends adjustments as necessary.
Coordinates and ensures department communication with Physicians, Associates, Patients, Families, and Visitors to facilitate departmental workflow.
Assists and makes recommendations to Supervisor and Director about management duties. Management duties include, but are not limited to, Performance Evaluations, Timecards, productivity, revenue, quality assurance and other Management functions.
Duties & responsibilities include accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to patients, including those that may produce patient charges. If designated as a “Revenue Lead”, additional responsibilities will include revenue reconciliation and charge-error correction as specified by departmental process and hospital policy.
Performs other duties consistent with purpose of job as directed.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES
Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Licensure: Current registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and a licensed Radiographer in the state of Indiana. Earned the advanced certificate in mammography from the ARRT, or completed a training course in mammography and will be taking the ARRT advanced certificate in mammography within 60 days.
Experience: Minimum of one year as a Radiologic Technologist. Preferably one year experience in mammography.
Other Job Requirements:
Has the ability to recognize and demonstrate pertinent anatomy and pathology. The level of decision-making is critical. Based on what the technologist films the patient’s diagnosis is made. Failure to document pathology could cause problems in terms of diagnosis and/or treatment. The accuracy of a decision could be revealed in a short time-one day to one week or long term. This position requires a high degree of diplomacy and persuasion when dealing with patients, physicians, nursing service personal, ancillary personnel and other diagnostic imaging personnel. This position requires a high degree of responsibility in providing physical and emotional support of the patient during the mammography procedure.
Analytical skills necessary to complete quality assurance surveys as well as future planning and development. Critical thinking skills to address equipment and staffing issues are required.
