POSITION SUMMARY
The Division Accounting Manager will be an integral addition to the Finance team that will perform accounting duties directly related to M&A activity as well as the core distribution business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Actively involved with the financial integration of recently acquired businesses, including:
- Monthly close, which involves managing the acquired entity's accounting staff and assisting as needed with onsite accounting
- Accounting for business combinations (opening balance sheets, goodwill and other intangible assets, working capital true-ups)
- Integral with the ERP integration - Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) experience is a plus
- Must be open to 10% travel
- Works closely with the FP&A team to provide analysis of business performance for the monthly Board report
- Monitors, analyzes, and reconciles
- Income statement GL accounts, including COGS, payroll, and all opex accounts
- Balance sheet GL accounts, including inventory, prepaids, accruals and other liabilities, fixed assets
- Month-end and year-end close
- Prepares and posts journal entries
- Instrumental in the continual improvement of accounting processes
- Assists with treasury duties, including reconciliation of bank accounts
- Assists with intercompany transactions
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but will be responsible to provide oversight and direction to local accounting personnel of acquired entities.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Advanced data mining and MS Excel skills including vlookups and pivot tables
- Proven experience in an accounting department environment
- Distribution or manufacturing experience preferred
- Knowledge of basic accounting procedures and Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP)
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- BS degree in Accounting
- Minimum 5 years accounting experience
- Computer skills required: ERP Software (Epicor P21 preferred); Microsoft Office Suite
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical requirements for this position are typical for a sedentary office environment including considerable time spent in a stationary position, at a desk using a computer terminal and keyboard. Movement about the office and standing are required occasionally.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment for this position is typical for an office including protection from weather conditions and typical office equipment noise.
