JOB TYPE: Full-time, W2, contract with ongoing need
LOCATION: Alpharetta, GA
This position performs complex research, design, and software development assignments within a specific software functional area or product line. This is an exciting opportunity to learn cutting edge, and dynamic technology built to make “Big Data” management easier and simpler. This role will include extracting, loading, cleansing, translating, manipulating, analyzing, linking and indexing massive amounts of data utilizing cutting edge technology and techniques. This position will have the opportunity to work alongside talented colleagues with a variety of skills and business/industry content knowledge and will collaborate closely with internal business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver a product experience that aims to exceed customer expectations.
Review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
Complete testing of new development and bug fixes.
Work closely with other development team members and Business to understand product requirements and translate them testing procedures.
Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
Resolve technical issues as necessary.
Keep abreast of new technology developments.
Make suggestions for code design and changes and be accountable for the testing procedures assigned to you.
3+ years of Software Engineering experience
BS Engineering/Computer Science experience required.
Top skills for this position are: 1. Programming Background 2. Understanding of data and its behavior on a large scale. 3. Data analysis understanding and appropriate cleaning methods.
SQL Server/SSIS or some SQL background
Programming background (JAVA and Python preferred)
Large volumes of data (several terabytes in 1 database/dataset)
JSON and Flat file experience
Experience working with Git – GitLab/GitHub.
Experience working in software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
Data validation and quality
Reporting on data validation
• Communication skills
