Job Description Summary
The HR Director will lead HR Administration, a cross-functional workgroup that shepherds and stewards relationships, data, processes, policies and procedures to create data-driven, people-focused workforce management services. This leader will enable new ways to interact with team members, colleagues and leadership while leveraging resources and technological innovations. They will drive operational excellence, continuously improve processes to enhance the experience for members of our team and partners alike, and ensure HR practices are compliant with organizational and governmental guidelines.This HR director will elevate the team's readiness to respond to constituents' pursuit of information, assistance, understanding, guidance and/or partnership.
The HR Director strategically partners with the Vice President for Human Resources and other HR Senior Directors to shepherd and steward HR resources for the furtherance of Wycliffe USA's strategic priorities, principles and objectives. This leader assists to optimize HR team culture, cohesion, performance and outcomes.

Overview of HR Administration: Wycliffe USA seeks to better the attraction, health, and retention of staff (member, paid, volunteers and interns) serving globally to advance Bible Translation. Effective systems, resources, projects, policies and risk management is foundational to the advancement of HR strategies and operating systems.
Job Responsibilities: - Faithfully and regularly pray for the ongoing work of Bible translation and for unreached people groups around the world.
- Act as an organizational representative presenting the global ministry of Wycliffe and encouraging interested individuals, organizations and churches to participate in the work of Bible translation.
- Ensure excellence in service delivery to constituents by giving priority to work flowing through relationships.
- Collaborate on departmental initiatives to provide a best-in-class work experience for Wycliffe USA candidates and staff.
- Partner on efforts and strategies that improve the team's understanding, adoption and reflection of Wycliffe's values.
- Represent the HR team in meetings, projects, workshops, and partnership efforts. Build robust relationships with constituents producing creative and agile solutions to mitigate challenges to engagement for the HR team/processes.
- Direct and improve HR operating and management systems to facilitate the team's ability to respond to the needs of the workforce in a streamlined and simplified manner. Guide the development and continual improvement of HR administration and business functions. Supervise the development and improvement HR policies and procedures to ensure all decisions and actions comply with internal/external standards.
- Resource the developments and reporting of the tactical plans associated with the strategic plan and/or priorities. Collaborate on strategic initiatives with project management, as requested.
- Coordinate project teams, workgroups and/or taskforce to ensure assignments are carried out effectively, efficiently and collaboratively, as needed.
- Oversee the triaging of requests for assistance to ensure leaders shepherd staff through mitigation and reconciliation strategies in a timely manner.
- Coordinate and collaborate on staff communication efforts to ensure staff are kept abreast of relevant HR offerings and developments. Assure communication with constituents is clear, empathetic and succinct.
- Maintains current knowledge of industry trends to assure resources, services, and processes remain relevant to constituents and align with our best-in-class focus. Formulate recommendations for improvements.
- Support and partner budget development and fiscal management processes to ensure good stewardship of resources.
- Encourage and hold the HR team accountable to organizational culture standards, ensuring high customer service standards and demonstrating spiritual maturity. Promote team cohesion by helping to coordinate the planning and calendarization of team activities, highlighting milestones, new staff onboarding, etc. with a high level of whole-person care, professionalism and efficacy.
- Assist with other tasks and projects as requested by the Senior Director of HR Administration and Total Rewards and/or Vice President of Human Resources.
- Organizational Representative: Present the global ministry of Wycliffe and encourage interested individuals and churches to participate in this work. Maintain an exemplary standard of ethics and conduct that reflects biblical principles.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Coordinates supervisory responsibilities for 2-10 staff in accordance with the ministry's policies and applicable laws, including spiritual leadership, interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining staff, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
- Travel Requirements: Some domestic and international travel may be expected for this position.
- Schedule Requirements: Ability and willingness to alter work schedule as needed in order to work across time zones.

Education & Experience: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 5-7 years of related experience in human resources, business administration/operations, ministry and/or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience working with diverse teams and managing projects.
- Human resources background with certification preferred.
- Nonprofit ministry volunteer or work experience is also beneficial.
Compensation and Benefits: - Wycliffe's purpose-driven culture allows you to use your gifts and talents to serve the global work and ministry of Bible translation.
- The range for this position is $65,883 - $76,589. Actual pay rate may be higher based on various factors such as qualifications, skills and experience, required training, licensure and/or certifications, budget, and allocation, if applicable. Additionally, the range for this position is based upon and considers Wycliffe's non-profit ministry environment.
