Job description
Overview: As a vital member of our team, the Epic Clarity Data Engineer will play a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing the Epic Clarity database, ensuring the precise and efficient retrieval of healthcare data. This position requires an extensive comprehension of Epic Clarity Data, data models, and the capability to craft SQL queries and views for extracting insightful information. You will be accountable for thorough documentation of your work and conducting training sessions for executive staff to ensure a comprehensive grasp of data views.
Responsibilities:
Deep Understanding of Epic Clarity Data:
- Cultivate and sustain a profound understanding of the Epic Clarity Data structure, tables, and relationships.
- Stay abreast of updates and enhancements in Epic software relevant to data models.
SQL Query and View Creation:
- Devise and implement intricate SQL queries for the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from Epic Clarity tables.
- Develop and refine views that facilitate efficient access to pertinent healthcare data.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to comprehend data requirements and ensure SQL solutions align with business needs.
Documentation:
- Generate comprehensive documentation for all SQL queries, views, and data models.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation reflecting changes, updates, and enhancements to the Epic Clarity database.
Training Executive Staff:
- Develop and execute training sessions for executive staff on the utilization of SQL queries and views within Epic Clarity.
- Provide clear and concise training materials, enabling executive staff to independently access and analyze relevant healthcare data.
Data Governance and Security:
- Ensure compliance with data governance policies and procedures during the development of SQL queries and views.
- Implement and uphold security measures to safeguard sensitive healthcare information.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proven experience working with Epic Clarity Data and a robust understanding of its data models.
- Proficiency in SQL query development and optimization.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in healthcare IT or related industries is advantageous.
- Epic Clarity certification is highly desirable.
