Job description

We currently have an exciting opportunit y at Northern Star ( Pogo ) LLC for an experienced and motivated Senior Human Resources Generalist . Work location will be in Fairbanks, Alaska and at Pogo mine, a remote site approximately 3 hours ' drive from Fairbanks via Company - provided transportation . The preferred schedule is 4 day s on/3 days off .

What is the role?

The Senior Human Resources Generalist reports to the Human Resources Manager, and the primary role is to actively support the operation of the business by providing effective and professional HR services and advice to employees and management. Human Resources activities to be performed include lead responsibilities over site-based HR staff, employee relations, leadership training, benefits administration, compensation, recruitment, and HRIS administration within the Human Resources Department .

Responsibilities :

Perform day to day lead responsibilities for site-based HR staff and assigned functions. Make recommendations to HR Manager in areas of expertise .

Offer HR Support and guidance to site personnel .

Develop, implement and review HR systems, policies and procedures as required .

Collect and analyze data from market-based compensation surveys; review , evaluate and implement compensation changes . Compile and analyze HR-related metrics as needed.

Work efficiently with minimal supervision to organize , prioritize and complete tasks.

Research and interpret complex rules and regulations , providing sound recommendations to management.

Write reports and correspondence and create and maintain files and databases.

Experience & Competencies :

Minimum five years of relevant HR Generalist experience , including employee relations , training and recruitment responsibilities .

Advanced critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills.

Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Demonstrated computer skills in Windows environment with significant experience in the MS Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Working knowledge of all applicable US and Alaska HR laws, rules, and regulations, e.g. COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, FMLA, ADA and FLSA.

Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices.

Must pass a post-offer physical and drug test, as well as a background check.
