Job Description:
Strategy Development: Develop comprehensive data migration strategies, including data mapping, extraction, transformation, and loading processes, to ensure the smooth transition of data from legacy mainframe systems to modern applications.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of data migration specialists, providing guidance and support throughout the migration process. Delegate tasks effectively and ensure that team members adhere to project timelines and quality standards.
Data Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of existing data structures and formats within the mainframe system, identifying potential challenges and opportunities for optimization during the migration process.
Risk Management: Identify and assess risks associated with data migration, including data loss, corruption, and security breaches. Develop contingency plans and mitigation strategies to minimize potential disruptions to business operations.
Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, system architects, and business stakeholders, to ensure alignment and integration of data migration efforts with overall project objectives.
Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous quality assurance processes to validate the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of migrated data, ensuring alignment with business requirements and regulatory standards.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of data migration processes, including migration plans, data mappings, and test results. Prepare regular progress reports and updates for project stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize data migration processes, tools, and methodologies, leveraging industry best practices and emerging technologies. Write technical user stories and work with functional teams to understand data mapping solutions.
