DPP is seeking a Security Architect for an opportunity in Columbia, SC.
Work arrangement:
- Partially Onsite, 50% remote
- W2 position; 12 months
Project scope: - The MES Core project is a multi-year effort to enable standardized data exchange between numerous internal systems and external data trading partners. MES Core has been in production since 2018 but is continuously expanding to accommodate new systems and evolving business requirements.
Position description: - The Security Architect will support the Medicaid Enterprise System Core (MES Core) development and operations teams by designing and deploying secure AWS services in a timely manner.
- This position requires deep knowledge and experience with AWS tools, capabilities, and resources, with a deep understanding of cloud-based infrastructure resources, monitoring tools, and advanced security controls.
- The Security Architect will work with architects, developers, testers, business analysts, technical writers, and other team members with varying levels of technical expertise. It is essential that the Security Architect possesses excellent verbal and written communications skills. The Security Architect must be able to work independently with little supervision, and cooperatively with others in a team environment.
Responsibilities and duties: - Maintain and manage systems that are highly available, scalable, resilient, and secure on the AWS platform.
- Design, implement, manage, and maintain DevSecOps tools to automate operational processes in AWS platform.
- Lead and/or contribute to the development, maintenance, and usage of secure deployment infrastructure to meet HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshoot production issues and create root cause analysis report.
- Work within an Agile team framework to collaborate with other DevSecOps team members to prioritize and assign work.
- Coordinate with other development teams to provide support and manage technical expectations.
- Collaborate with architects and developers to design effective and secure solutions.
- Collaborate with team to design, implement, automate, maintain, and troubleshoot security controls, governance processes, and compliance support.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities: - cloud platforms / environments
- Agile
- Bachelor s degree in a technical or business field
- Linux
- Python
- 5 years of experience in a DevSecOps role.
- 3 years of experience in working with core AWS solutions and available services.
- 1 year of experience working in an Agile team environment
- Hands-on advanced experience developing automation using CloudFormation.
- 3 years of experience in Python Language.
- 3 years of experience in Linux Shell Scripting.
Preferred KSAs: - Patch Management
- Deep knowledge on AWS core components (examples: IAM, WAF, API Gateway, ECS, EBS, Glue, EC2, S3, SNS, Lambda, Security groups, VPC, CFT, Route 53, certificate manager, AWS build pipelines and AWS cloud trail).
- Experience with cloud security and compliance services
- Ability to identify system vulnerabilities and provide solution designs.
- Knowledge of operating systems patching.
Required education/equivalencies: - Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or similar 4-year technical degree
- 2 years of relevant work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education
Desired education/equivalencies: - AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate/Professional
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Associate/Professional
