Job description
Making A Difference Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting hunger and food insecurity in our community. We are currently seeking a passionate and driven Food Bank Manager to join our team. As a Food Bank Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our food bank, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in serving our clients and distributing food resources to those in need. You will work closely with our staff, volunteers, and community partners to develop and implement strategies that will enhance our food bank's impact and reach. Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the food bank's operations, including inventory management, food sourcing, and distribution logistics.
- Oversee a team of staff and volunteers, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase food donations, forge partnerships with local businesses, and engage the community in supporting our mission.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines and safety standards, maintaining proper food handling procedures.
- Collaborate with social service agencies and community organizations to identify the needs of our clients and develop programs that address food insecurity in our community.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of the food bank's programs, collecting and analyzing data to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Manage the food bank's budget, including grant proposals, fundraising activities, and financial reporting.
- Represent the food bank in community events and engage in public relations efforts to raise awareness and support for our mission.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in food bank management or a related field.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of staff and volunteers.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling and storage.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in budget management, grant writing, and fundraising for nonprofit organizations.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Passion for social justice and a deep commitment to alleviating hunger and food insecurity in our community.

Sick time - 1 hour for every 40 hours worked

Vacation time after one year of employment. Full-time employees begin with 2 weeks per year accrual and Part-time employees (more than 30 hours per week) begin accrual at 1 week per year.
Full time employees are eligible for medical, dental, sick, vacation, long and short term disability, life insurance, vision, dental the first of the month after 60 days of employment. MADF pays 90 percent of these insurances.
