AFO Finisher, Operations Support Specialists

Part-time: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Mon – Fri

Pay rate: $12.00 per hour.

Location: 303 West Exchange St., Akron, OH

Summary:

As an AFO Finisher and Operations Support Specialist. You will assist in providing high-quality Ankle-Foot Orthoses. This role is vital for providing high-quality finish sanding for AFOs while also offering operational support in various areas, including shipping, and receiving, inventory management, lab cleanliness, sewing, mold and finish FOs, and cast room tasks. Yanke Bionics, a renowned Orthotics and Prosthetics (O&P) company, is seeking dedicated AFO Finishers and Operations Support Specialists to join our team. 

 

 

What you will do:

• Finish Sanding for AFOs:
  • Primary responsibility: Perform finish sanding for AFOs to meet the required specifications, ensuring a smooth, comfortable, and cosmetically appealing final product.
  • No previous AFO finishing experience is required; however, good hand skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Shipping and Receiving:
  • Assist in shipping and receiving activities, including packing, labeling, and preparing orders for delivery.
  • Help maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Inventory Management:
  • Contribute to managing inventory levels on both part-time and full-time schedules, ensuring proper stock levels and product availability.
  • Participate in regular inventory checks and record discrepancies.
• Lab Cleanliness:
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized workspace within the lab area.
  • Follow cleanliness and safety protocols for a sterile working environment.
• Sewing:
  • Operate sewing machines to create, repair, or modify orthotic and prosthetic devices on both part-time and full-time schedules.
  • Ensure the quality and precision of sewing work following established guidelines.
• Mold and Finish FOs:
  • Participate in the molding and finishing process of FOs (Foot Orthotics), ensuring accuracy and comfort for patients.
• Cast Room Tasks:
  • Responsibilities include filling plaster casts and preparing molds for modification, contributing to the creation of custom orthotic devices.
• Maintain FO Molding Room and Hallway:
  • Keep the FO molding room and hallway clean and organized to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.

 

What you will need:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Good hand skills for sanding and a willingness to learn are crucial.
• No prior experience finishing AFOs, or FOs required.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and documentation.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with team members.
