Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula (BGCP) proudly stands as the largest expanded learning provider in San Mateo County, dedicated to empowering 5,400 TK-College students across 29 sites from East Palo Alto to Daly City. POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a dedicated and strategic Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our team. The HRBP will play a pivotal role in aligning HR strategies with business goals, driving organizational effectiveness, and fostering a positive employee experience. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in HR practices, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate across functions.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as a trusted HR advisor and partner to assigned regions, understanding their objectives and proactively addressing HR-related needs.
- Collaborate with business leaders to develop and implement HR strategies that support the achievement of organizational goals.
- Provide guidance on a wide range of HR matters, including employee relations, performance management, talent development, and compensation.
- Work closely with management to identify staffing needs, participate in recruitment efforts, and ensure effective onboarding of new employees.
- Coach and counsel managers on leadership and people management skills to enhance team performance and engagement.
- Facilitate effective communication between employees and management, promoting a culture of transparency and open dialogue.
- Address employee concerns and grievances, conducting thorough investigations when necessary and recommending appropriate actions.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization to identify training needs and support the implementation of relevant training programs.
- Monitor key HR metrics and trends, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Contribute to the design and execution of talent management initiatives, including succession planning, career development and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and company policies within assigned business units.
- Participate in HR projects and initiatives aimed at improving HR processes, policies, and practices.
- Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams to promote collaboration and alignment on HR and business objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in HR, with significant experience in HR business partnering or similar roles.
- Demonstrated experience in advising and collaborating with business leaders on HR matters.
Business Acumen:
- Understanding of the organization's industry, business model, goals, and challenges.
- Ability to align HR strategies with business objectives.
Employee Relations:
- Proven ability to effectively handle complex employee relations matters.
- Experience in managing and resolving workplace conflicts and grievances.
Strategic Thinking:
- Ability to contribute to the development and implementation of HR strategies that support growth and drive organizational effectiveness.
Change Management:
- Experience in managing organizational change, including restructures, mergers, and process improvements.
Talent Management:
- Proficiency in talent assessment, development, and succession planning.
- Ability to partner with leadership to identify high-potential employees and create development plans.
Recruitment and Staffing:
- Familiarity with recruitment processes, including sourcing, interviewing, and candidate assessment.
- Ability to collaborate with talent acquisition teams and hiring managers to fulfill staffing needs.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Understanding of compensation principles and experience in providing guidance on compensation and benefits matters.
Labor Laws and Regulations:
- Knowledge of relevant employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
Communication Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effectively interacting with all levels of employees and stakeholders.
Analytical and Problem-Solving:
- Ability to analyze HR data, metrics, and trends to identify areas for improvement and make informed decisions.
Collaboration:
- Strong collaborative skills to work with cross-functional teams and HR colleagues.
Influence and Negotiation:
- Proficiency in influencing and negotiating with stakeholders to drive HR initiatives and solutions.
Ethical Conduct:
- High level of integrity and ethics, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
LOCATION:
- You will be based at our Menlo Park office, with occasional travel to various sites and clubhouses as required from Monday to Thursday.
- Fridays will be designated for remote work from home.
WORK SCHEDULE:
- Generally, 9 AM to 5 PM, but flexibility is required to align with the organization's needs.
SALARY & BENEFITS:
- Employment Status: Full-Time Salary.
- Salary Range: $75,000 to $100,000, depending on experience (DOE).
- Health Benefits: BGCP covers 100% of medical, dental, and vision premiums; 50% for dependents.
- Retirement Benefits: BGCP offers salary contributions to the 401(k) plan.

ONBOARDING PROCESS:
- BGCP will cover all onboarding process requirements.
- COVID Vaccination: Preferred but not required
- Complete LiveScan background check.
- Undergo a TB test.
- Participate in mandatory onboarding training sessions.
