Description
SAIC is seeking a Sr. Cloud Automation Engineer to join our dynamic, cloud based, team supporting the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS.) The Sr. Cloud Cybersecurity Engineer will be a key member of a fast-paced SecOps development team, creating automated security products and services to be consumed by application development teams across the CMS enterprise. The Sr. Cloud Cybersecurity Engineer will focus on security tools such as AWS GuardDuty, AWS Security Hub, Trend Micro, and Tenable/Nessus to deliver security solutions.
This role is 100% remote!
Responsibilities:
- Lead complex security projects (from design through implementation and maintenance) that identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities within a cloud-based environment
- Deliver security solutions using site reliability engineering (SRE) concepts
- Self-motivated to lead or support the resolution of complex questions and issues
- Utilize creativity and innovation to automate and streamline processes and procedures
- Participate in infrastructure security audits
- Collaborate proactively in a team setting
- Values attention to detail and customer outcomes
- Participate in learning new skills, new client environments, new tools and new domain expertise quickly and eagerly
- Addresses and resolves complex incidents/requests, which may be escalated via customer support requests
- Work closely with peers to build strong relationships with delivery and customer teams by working across organizational boundaries to resolve customer request
- Provide for security monitoring and responds to alerts across both Cloud and data center environments
- Manage complex networks
- Communicate effectively within the team
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in technical discipline and 9+ of related experience; a Master’s Degree in technical discipline and 7+ years of related experience required; 5+ years of experience can be substituted in lieu of education.
- 10+ years of related experience highly preferred
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance based on the Department of HHS regulations.
- Must have lived in the United States for 3 out of the last 5 years
Required Skills:
- Must have at least 5 or more years of experience working with complex Python scripting and automation experience and/or Ruby and Go scripting
- 8 or more years of professional experience in performing cloud automation tasks, Agile Scrum, cybersecurity, and/or performing software configuration management functions
- Must have greater or equal to 10 years of experience delivering DevSecOps in cloud-based environments AWS (preferred) and/or Azure/MAG, Google Cloud
- Experience working in an Agile development environment
- A strong understanding of CI/CD
- Experience working in a service and product centered environment such as SaaS/PaaS/IaaS
Desired Skills
- Current or prior work experience at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and in particularly the Office of Information Technology / Infrastructure and User Services Group (OIT / IUSG)
Target salary range: $135,001 - $145,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
