The Sr. Specialist, Chemistry Manufacturing role is responsible for the manufacture of intermediate and finished good parts that will ultimately be used by our end users to advance human wellness. This role will be performing bottling, filling, packaging, and assembly operations by following standard operating procedures (SOP’s). There will be an opportunity for the person in this role to continue their career growth through learning portions of the formulation side of the business and by learning to use Danaher Business System (DBS) tools such as problem solving and Kaizen.

This position is part of the Manufacturing Department and will be located in Carlsbad California where you will be working onsite. At Sciex our vision is to advance human wellness through the power of precise science and the operations leadership team does this through the leaderships and manufacture of quality consumable reagents to be used with Mass Spectroscopy and Capillary Electrophoresis.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Build intermediate and FG parts as formulations, CONL’s, Kits, and Assemblies to meet customer needs
• Participate in continuous improvement events championed through the use of the Danaher Business System
• Support the manufacturing site through training of other team-members as well as leading your day to day through our core behaviors of apply insights, instill trust, deliver results, and win as a team

The essential requirements of the job include: 

• High school degree (or equivalent degree) with 5+ years exp. Fluent in English, spoken, written, reading.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related lab environment or equivalent such as an associates degree with no prior work experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work at a computer or stand for long periods at a time.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Working in a high mix/low volume lab manufacturing environment.
• knowledge of aspects relating to Kanban, 1 piece flow, and standard work.

The salary range OR the hourly range for this role is $42,800 to $55,300. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
