Job description
Job Summary
The Deposit Review Representative is responsible for the process of reviewing day-to-day deposits for the ATM and Mobile channels, prevent fraud losses, and process adjustments to check deposits, member accounts, general ledgers, and cash letters.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviewing deposited checks and extending/placing holds as necessary.
- Ensure that procedures are being followed to avoid losses.
- Work closely with Fraud Investigations to review suspicious transactions.
- Maintain individual tracking sheet and set personal goals.
- Enable and disable new mobile device users.
- Maintain exception handling list daily.
- Process check adjustments to deposit system, member account, general ledger, and cash letters.
- Work Salesforce cases assigned to Deposit Review team.
- Research check processing requests from frontline and Accounting Services department.
- Promotes honest and open communication throughout the credit union.
- Demonstrate behaviors that are consistent with the credit union’s values, philosophies, and leadership characteristics.
- Work with other credit union departments to ensure the workflow or process is providing the best service to the members.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field of study; or equivalent work experience.
- One (1) to Three (3) years of experience in financial institution operations, preferably check handling or deposit review.
- A combination of relevant experience, education, and certification will be considered.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Identify fraudulent checks upon review.
- Flexibility to work extended evening and weekend hours.
- Ability to process adjustments accurately.
- Knowledge of credit union products and services.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Must be able to be bonded.
- Knowledge of Funds Availability, Reg CC holds.
Physical Requirements:
- In this position, individual will be expected to lift up to 20 pounds from time to time. Also, must be able to stoop, bend, reach, stand and sit and use a computer for extended periods of time.
Working Conditions:
- This position is expected to work in general office environment and may have to travel for visits to other credit union facilities or for training purposes.
