Job description
We are currently seeking a dynamic Plant Superintendent to oversee and enhance the operational efficiency of our metal machining facility. As a key member of our senior leadership team, the Plant Superintendent will be responsible for directing and managing all plant operations, with a focus on production, maintenance, distribution, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute departmental production schedules, optimizing direct labor staffing for cost-effective and efficient operations.
- Ensure effective and efficient utilization of material and labor resources, producing high-quality products meeting industry standards, customer specifications, and required ship dates.
- Collaborate with department managers and lead personnel to define and implement short-term and long-term goals and objectives.
- Analyze existing manufacturing methods and implement process flow improvements for enhanced efficiency.
- Establish, monitor, and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as on-time shipments, labor/production efficiency, quality, scrap, and safety.
- Ensure compliance with operational reporting and inventory control requirements.
- Coordinate machinery maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime and ensure proper equipment functioning.
- Direct the development and implementation of employee training programs to enhance job knowledge and safety across all production departments.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for workstations and operational employee development and cross-training policies.
- Drive continuous improvement in customer service, safety, quality, delivery, efficiency, cost, productivity, employee relations, and profitability.
- Develop and implement effective succession plans for each production department.
- Ensure strict adherence to OSHA and company safety requirements for job site safety.
- Ensure operational compliance with industry production standards and federal and state regulations.
Knowledge & Experience Requirements:
- Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing efficient and effective manufacturing and distribution of goods.
- Mechanical knowledge, including understanding machines, tools, designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum seven (7) years of supervisory experience in production management.
- Metal product manufacturing experience is required.
- Proficient in the analysis, design, and implementation of manufacturing processes.
- Thorough understanding of production scheduling and reporting software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products and business computer software systems.

Pay Details: $120,000.00 to $140,000.00 per year
