Job description
The Basilica School of Saint Mary, a Catholic Pre-K through eight Parish School in Alexandria, Virginia, is seeking a Guidance Counselor for the 2023-2024 school year. The Counselor will work closely with the with our Learning Supports team in a highly collaborative manner committed to offering excellence in student intellectual, spiritual, and character formation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in counseling, with an ability to develop a guidance program that will care for the social, emotional, and spiritual and personal growth of students and grades pre-K through eight. Qualified candidates will fully embrace the mission of our Catholic school, which recognizes the infinite value of each student, seeks to develop the gifts of all, and nurtures them to be saints, stewards, and scholars, always with an eye to their eternal destiny. Ideal candidates will hold a Master's degree in counseling, social work, or psychology, will hold or be willing to work towards certification, and have relevant experiences.
