Graphic and Digital Design Faculty Location Greenville, SC :
POSITION SUMMARY: BJU School of Fine Arts and Communication Division of Art + Design is seeking an individual for a full-time, faculty teaching position in Graphic and Digital Design. Successful candidates will have the ability to teach a variety of graphic and digital design courses. Faculty will provide student instruction from a Biblical worldview for various undergraduate Graphic and Digital Design courses; will advise students concerning academic matters; and will perform service duties as needed within the department, division, or school.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and teach assigned undergraduate graphic design courses including class preparation, grading, and other teaching activities
- Maintain course syllabi and post it for each class
- Recruit, advise, and mentor undergraduate students
- Maintain thorough and current faculty portfolio
- Collaborate with other faculty for program improvement
- Participate in divisional/department meetings and activities including curriculum development, serving on committees, and advising core-curricular organizations
- Engage in professional practice and professional development activities
- Participate in University service activities
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Aptitude for teaching graphic or digital design courses
- Proficiency in Web and Mobile Design
- Proficiency in Creative Cloud applications
- Demonstrated commitment to biblical worldview through teaching, curriculum development, and/or service
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in the classroom and interpersonally with students and peers
- Demonstrate organizational abiltiies in teaching and classroom management
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good organizational skills
- Adobe InDesign, PhotoShop, Illustrator, XD/Figma, AfterEffects, Premier Pro
- Microsoft Office
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree with significant professional/industry experience demonstrated through portfolios and CV.
- Master's preferred with 18 hours in graphic or digital design
- Teaching and professional/industry experience preferred
