Job description
The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center announces an opening for an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. We seek an outstanding individual with an MD degree who is board certified or board eligible in ophthalmology with a Texas Medical License.
Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. Subspecialty training accepted, but not required. This position will serve to help supervise residents and fellows. Duties will include primary oversight of ophthalmology consultation and hospital/emergency department patients; supervision of general ophthalmology outpatient clinics; and supervision of procedures in operating rooms, minor surgery room, and laser suites. In addition to general teaching duties for residents and fellows, opportunity exists for participation in faculty practice. Applications are welcome from candidates in comprehensive ophthalmology and all ophthalmologic subspecialties. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule.
