Description

This position will work with the Admissions Unit and the Counseling Unit. Part of the week will be dedicated to assessing potential customers for intake, developing a provisional psychiatric diagnosis and connecting customers to services here at the center and in the community. Part of the week is dedicated to providing counseling for enrolled consumers. The counseling provided with be Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Depression. There is a minimum of 60 face to face hours per month required for this position. Other duties may include providing crisis counseling to consumers in crisis services, following up with consumers seen in crisis, and providing CANS 2 Assessments for children in the foster care system. This position may also serve on the Critical Incident & Stress Management team to provide support services for disaster victims as needed.

This position is directly supervised by the MH Program Administrator for Admissions.

Qualifications

Requires a Masters Degree in Counseling, Social Work or Psychology from an accredited college or
university. Must either have a current license as an LPC, LCSW, or Psychologist. Must be eligible to be certified as a Qualified Mental Health Professional. Must have previous mental health work experience with adult mental health consumers. Must possess a valid Texas Drivers License and be an insurable driver
