Description:

The industrial painter will be working on customized projects for customers including NASA, Boeing and government funded work. They will be painting industrial work platforms, mezzanines, and ladder platforms in a paint booth and will perform the following: *Painting of steel weldments and fabricated parts using liquid spray equipment *Lay out, position, align and secure parts prior to painting using prescribed fixtures and proper work procedures. *Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the painting trade. *Mixing liquid paint to specification. *Cleaning and prepping parts prior to paining, including plugging and masking of areas not to be painted. *Involvement in maintaining inventory of paint and chemicals. *Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications. *Monitor painting processes to assure desired finish is achieved. *Determine required equipment and painting methods via established work procedures and apply proper painting techniques. *Mark or tag material with proper job number, piece marks, and other identifying marks as required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

The qualified candidate will have: Must have at least 1-2 years experience working in an industrial paint booth Must have 1 year experience spraying liquid paint in a production environment Experience using spray equipment including spray guns (high or low pressure, airless or HVLP) Ability to read and interpret blueprints Minimum 1-2 years experience performing industrial paint process in paint booth environment from start to finish including set up, paint mixing, tagging/marking parts, sand blasting, painting, packaging etc.
