Job description

Supports the Jag Hospitalist Service and assists in the recruiting and onboarding of physicians and advanced practice providers (APP), as needed; provides management and operational support to the Jag Hospitalist Service to include assistance with scheduling, coverage, payroll and other hospitalist related functions; responsible for physician and APP recruitment, onboarding, and operational functions in partnership with the Hospital Administrator/Assistant Med Affairs, Assistant Administrators, and Human Resources; develops and maintains an effective working knowledge of physician employment agreements, employment process, offer packages, compensation and benefits to answer candidate questions as needed; works with Human Resources to manage applicable posted positions; assists with candidate communication throughout the hiring process; pre-screens potential recruits and sends viable leads to Administrative leadership; executes physician contracts and interfaces with legal department to ensure contracts are returned timely; creates, schedules, and organizes detailed interview schedules to include arranging luncheons, dinners and tours of the area with realtors; makes flight and hotel reservations for candidates; prepares and coordinates detailed itineraries and forwards to candidates and hiring managers; manages the new hire and onboarding process ensuring all new hire paperwork is received, processed and routed appropriately; updates systems and folders in a timely manner and in compliance with state and federal laws; assists physician candidates in the relocation and reimbursement process; coordinates the completion of required documentation for background checks, license verification, drug screening, credentialing and other screening as needed; tracks new hire documentation proactively, ensuring that new hire is able to start on planned orientation date; aids in the establishment of a working relationship between newly hired providers and hospital leadership; acts as a liaison between new providers and internal departments through the onboarding process including, but not limited to, malpractice, credentialing, and marketing; ensures a flawless recruitment and onboarding experience; and identifies opportunities for improving the candidate experience throughout the recruiting and onboarding experience.

Bachelor's degree in business or a health care related field from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama and three years of directly related experience in a health care setting, two of which were in a managerial capacity. Additional directly related experience may substitute on a year for year basis for the required education.
