POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists Director to develop and manage the Connecting Kids to Coverage (CKC) grant. Collaborates with local school districts, community agencies and other community partners to design, implement and evaluate activities to assist members of the community to enroll in Medicaid and CHIP while insuring initiatives employ health education methods and techniques that are developmentally appropriate and culturally sensitive in order to achieve program objectives. Will coordinate program activities with grant outreach staff including participating in health fairs, community events, conferences, wellness programs and other appropriate venues to bring Medicaid, CHIP and other health coverage resources to UH patients and the community.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in health education, social science, public health or equivalent experience is required. Experience in community health promotion, volunteer activity coordination, or health education in a community health setting is preferred. Experience with public speaking and/or teaching, individually or in groups, is required. English/Spanish fluency is preferred.
