This position exists to perform advanced, highly complex, and professional activities involving the analysis, development, and maintenance of software programs/applications in a complex, evolving, and heterogeneous environment utilizing advanced development methodologies.
Plans, designs, and builds new or revised software applications according to specifications. Acts as a technical resource for Programmer Analysts. Maintains technical documentation regarding software applications. Maintains liaison with users. Interfaces with other technical staff to coordinate planned changes to software applications. Conducts unit testing to ensure compliance with specifications.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Thorough knowledge of systems analysis and programming. Considerable knowledge of mathematics, statistics, logic, and formal principles of reasoning. Ability to interpret specifications and plan, design, and build software applications. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with others. Bilingual/biliterate preferred.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's degree in Computer Programming, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent verifiable experience. Two or more years of experience in systems analysis and programming or equivalent training and experience.
Requires sitting, standing, walking and moving about to coordinate work. Requires the use of alternative communication systems, such as electronic mail, telephones and computers. Requires coordination of work tasks to establish priorities, set goals and meet deadlines. Requires face-to-face discussions and contact with individuals and/or teams.
Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Requires sitting, standing, and moving about for the majority of the day, and the ability to lift, carry, move and/or position objects frequently weighing up to 20 pounds and infrequently weighing more than 20 pounds.
