Job description

Fast paced medical billing company seeking full-time remote Interventional Radiology Coding Auditor. Experience in radiology and/or interventional radiology preferred. Seeking an individual that can: work independently; is a quick learner with critical thinking skills; is resourceful with the capability of making decisions; and is able to code and audit interventional radiology procedures accurately and in a timely fashion.

*Must have Interventional Radiology coding experience. You may eventually be working with clients that perform complex endovascular and neurovascular interventional procedures (this experience is a plus)!

Responsibilities and Duties include but not limited to:

• Coding/ Auditing charges for clients that perform Interventional Radiology.
• Review and audit for the accuracy of:

1. Documentation to support the CPT code billed.
2. Diagnosis Billed.
3. Modifiers assigned.
4. Date of Service.
5. Provider being billed out.

• Document issues and errors found in each client, sending back with your recommendations on code selection.
• Resolve unreconciled visits by obtaining necessary information for coding
• Understand insurance policies and procedures.
• Have knowledge of LCD/ NCD policies and how to read them.
• Have some experience with PQRS/MIPS quality measures and the purpose of the measures.
• Communicating any errors/trends found and helping to develop a plan of action
• Abide strictly by HIPAA law by maintaining confidentiality and only accessing information as needed for job functions
• Resolve coding denials, analyze and identify any trends if needed.
• Ability to answer interventional radiology coding questions from the team and/or other MBMS staff.
• Perform other misc. tasks/ duties as needed.

Qualifications and Work Requirements

Must be certified Professional Coder (CPC) by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) or as a Radiology Certified Coder (RCC) by the Radiology Coding Certification Board. *Certified in Interventional radiology preferred but not required.
