We are currently recruiting an IT Director for eCommerce Development to lead our team of developers base in Colorado, Alabama, Florida, and Spain. The IT Director for eCommerce Development will be responsible for leading and directing a variety of software development project to ensure successful achievement of day-to- day, short-term and long-term growth goals. The ideal candidate will influence a positive work environment that drives a proactive culture of employee engagement with different groups at Resource Label Group, while providing leadership to other areas in the IT group.
- Lead, guide, and grow a talented team of professionals that design, build, and implement an eCommerce platform using agile methodologies.
- Provide technical and architectural leadership to a dynamic team throughout the software development life cycle - both oversight and hands-on contributions to the software design and code reviews.
- Run efficient Agile method processes to achieve outcomes with a user-centric and “MVP” focused approach.
- Ability to affect positive change, empower people, manage product technology visions and innovative solutions.
- Develop and execute development roadmaps with input from the product, customer success, manufacturing and marketing that maximizes opportunities to improve business processes, develop a best-in-class product and produce results.
- Design and build security and privacy-enhancing techniques into our solutions to avert disruption and maintain uptime.
- Lead and champion best practices and uphold a culture that is committed to quality, test driven development and repeatable processes through automation and infrastructure as code.
- Review and evaluate emerging technologies to influence the engineering roadmap.
- Work with QA Engineering to ensure applications are properly tested prior to being released.
- Effectively break-down complicated software architecture concepts and business value in ways multiple non-technical audiences will understand.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives tied to the strategic business direction; execute thoughtful change management.
- Build partnerships and effectively collaborate with commercial/sales business partners to identify and facility growth opportunities and maintain relationships with key accounts.
- Work collaboratively with other cross-functional leaders to best serve the customer’s needs
- Serve as point of contact for the respective technology solutions and ensure appropriate technology is implemented in alignment with business needs.
- Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, execute necessary solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of people leadership experience in a software development environment
- 10+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams.
- Scrum and/or PMP certification.
- Demonstrated track record of strong goal setting and ability to build, develop, lead, and motivate diverse teams through transformative change.
- Ability to respond quickly to changing demands, processes, and evolving information.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to adjust communication style based on audience.
- Experience managing, motivating, and retaining high-performance engineering teams.
- Demonstrated experience with design and architecture.
- Extensive experience with eCommerce platforms, omnichannel commerce delivery, and retail processes, systems, and multi-region cloud based redundant solutions, multi-language, feature toggle ecommerce platform deployments.
- Deep understanding of current cloud offerings (AWS preferred) and the ability to design an effective architecture utilizing serverless computing patterns (AWS lambda preferred).
- Understanding of database options, how they fit into a full commerce solution, and how to determine the best fit based on the business requirements.
- Experience with modern web application design and analysis and design patterns.
- Familiarity with: React, SQL, Python, JavaScript, Node.js, PHP, Non-Relational Databases, REST/SOAP, Vue.js, FileMaker, Linux, Apache, Java, AWS, IaC frameworks and Adobe Commerce (Magento).
- Hands-on experience leading a team in the development and rapid delivery of next-generation digital products, utilizing robust, scalable, CI/CD pipelines & automation frameworks.
- Expert analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills demonstrating the ability to present various topics along with writing proposals and guidance documents for both the developer audience, technical leadership, and business users.
- Experience recruiting and building diverse engineering teams, leading by example, promoting a positive & inclusive culture, and fostering trust & transparency.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and projects in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
