What You’ll Be Doing:
- Review medical records to ensure accurate representation of patient illness severity, risk of mortality, and complexity of care.
- Collaborate with physicians, mid-levels, nurses, and coders to address documentation gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Educate and train healthcare professionals on documentation best practices, regulations, and compliance guidelines.
- Assign working DRG and secondary diagnoses/procedures for accurate reimbursement and quality metrics.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to legal and regulatory requirements.
About You:
- Graduate of a school of professional nursing with current RN licensure in Texas or immediate eligibility.
- Minimum five years of CDI experience preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to provide CDI/CDS education and training to physicians.
