The Peel Compton Foundation is accepting applications for a summer intern at the Peel Museum & Botanical Garden. This is a paid internship ($15.00 per hour)
The Peel Compton Foundation is a premiere and growing nonprofit organization, located in Bentonville, AR. The foundation owns and operates the Peel Museum & Botanical Garden, Compton Gardens & Arboretum, Coler Mountain Bike Preserve, and Osage Park. The uniting mission for these diverse properties is to connect the community through nature, education, recreation, and preservation. Peel Compton Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
About the Position Peel Museum is seeking an intern to work with the Museum Manager and Museum Coordinator to complete tasks involving museum collections management and research. The intern will learn best practices on how to complete museum work tasks such as inventory, housekeeping, research, and archival organization.
The intern will also complete a research project of their choosing related to the history of the site. Alongside these tasks, the intern will have the opportunity to lead tours and practice public speaking skills if desired.

- Willingness to learn the history and narratives for the museum
- Comfortable working with the public
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer and email competency
- Flexibility to adjust with the needs of the museum
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs (on and off for several hours at a time)
